Sr. Clinical Research Coordinator
Dr. Andrea N. Cimino is a social scientist and nationally recognized expert in interdisciplinary violence research. Her work examines how cumulative violence exposure and structural inequities contribute to adverse outcomes, including suicidal ideation, self-harm, and premature mortality, with particular attention to populations impacted by the criminal legal system. At the Center for Suicide Prevention, she co-leads a psychological autopsy study examining cross-cutting risk and protective factors linking gender-based violence and suicide. Her methodological expertise includes mixed methods research, psychometrics, and advanced statistical modeling to investigate complex pathways between violence, trauma, and behavioral health. Her research has informed policy and practice across public health and criminal legal systems, with a focus on improving homicide risk identification, prevention strategies, and system responses for vulnerable populations.
